May The Fourth Be With You: Astronomy In The Classroom

Description:

Join us for an astronomy-packed evening in celebration of May the Fourth at the South Mountain Environmental Education Center (SMEEC). This Saturday session will include the topics of incorporating astronomy into your classroom, curriculum take-aways from NASA, the various programs and resources that SMEEC provides for teachers, and a presentation from Gordon Rosner of Arizona Star Tales: How we know about the universe, including telescopes, rockets and the study of light. Finally, in collaboration with SMEEC, we will follow Gordon Rosner's presentation with an evening of star gazing.
